J.D. Drew is really stepping up for the Red Sox this season. The Red Sox were wondering if someone would step up and pick up the slack with David Ortiz out of action and it has been J.D. Drew. Drew has played in 55 games this season and he is 58 for 181 (.320 avg, .968 OPS) with 44 runs scored, 9 homers and 35 RBIs. The Red Sox just hope that Drew can stay healthy which has been a problem in his major league career. In nine full seasons in Drew’s career he has averaged only 120.6 games per season finishing with over 140 games played only three times.
